
SBN Reacts voters have a Chicago Cub as the best surprise so far this year
This week in SBN Reacts, folks were asked who the best surprise of the 2025 season has been out of Kris Bubic, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cal Raleigh, and Jacob Wilson.
Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs received a majority of the vote. He’s slashing .271/.305/.554 on the season, with 21 stolen bases and a National League leading 4.1 bWAR.
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh also got a substantial amount of the vote, at 30%. He’s slashing .265/.372/.629 and leading the majors in home runs, with 26 so far this season.
Shortstop Jacob Wilson of the A’s is slashing .366/.402/.520 this year, for a 2.4 bWAR, while Royals pitcher Kris Bubic has a 1.92 ERA in 13 starts with a 3.1 bWAR. Both finished a ways behind the top two, but have nonetheless been excellent so far this season.
