Texas Rangers Week 24 Recap: A Winning Road Trip!

I want to start by saying, there wasn’t a week 23 recap because my uncle passed away last week and I debated on writing one this week because I’m still processing it all. However, my uncle loved the Rangers. He was one of the biggest reasons I got into the game and I have him to thank for my bobblehead collection. He would’ve loved to see them have a successful road trip and a stellar week like they did, so let’s recap shall we?

I would’ve included Monday’s 4-0 win to split the series against the Angels in the Week 23 recap but since we didn’t do that recap, let’s include it here. That win went on to be part of the Rangers 4-game win streak, matching their longest of the season, previously in June.

The Rangers swept a two game series in Arizona to start the beginning of this week, their first sweep on the road this season. In fact, it was their first sweep on the road since September of 2019.

Now the Rangers winning streak ended Friday night when they got to Oakland and lost 10-5.

It looked as though they were well on their way to losing the series in Saturday’s game until the 8th inning, with a couple of home runs, they Rangers managed a comeback and took the game 8-6 to the series.

That win also clinched a winning road trip for Texas. Their first winning road trip of 9+ games since 2016. You might remember that year as the season we had Ian Desmond… or is that just me?

Anyway, the Rangers Moneyballed the Moneyball team:

In Sunday’s game Leody Taveras tripled early in the game to continue his hitting streak to 7 games. Winning the game 4-3 the Rangers ended the road trip 6-3 and won six of their last seven games. With that team win, Taylor Hearn also won his fourth straight start and completed a third straight quality start.

The Rangers now head home for a seven game home stand, starting their final four games against the Houston Astros.
