The Dallas Stars have reportedly added playoff experience to their roster. The Stars are signing centre Radek Faksa to a three-year contract with an average annual value of $2 million.
Faksa Signs with the Stars

Prior to the 2024-25 season, Faksa had spent his entire career with the Stars. That changed in the summer of 2024, when Faksa was traded to the St. Louis Blues. In 70 games with the Blue Note, Faksa scored five goals and recorded ten assists.
Faksa Brings Experience and Depth to the Stars
Faksa has spent the majority of his 10-year career as a middle-line centre. While he has shown flashes off offensive potential (17 goals in the 2017-18 season), his biggest strength has been his defensive ability. Throughout his time with the Stars, Faksa has been placed on the team’s shutdown line against opponent’s top teams. Even seasons where he has not put up many points, Faksa has been a durable defensive forward.
In addition to his two-way talent, Faksa brings playoff experience to his new team. In nine seasons with the Stars, Faksa reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs six times. Faksa has played in the Western Conference Final three times. In 2020, Faksa and the Stars reached the Stanley Cup Final. That same postseason, Faksa recorded a career-high eight points.
With the Blues last season, Faksa was part of a reliable line for the Blues alongside Alexey Toropchenko and Nathan Walker. The “WTF Line” were used by head coach Jim Montgomery in all situations in a game, including being the starting line during the playoffs. The line recorded six goals in seven playoff games.
The Stars have obtained someone with playoff experience at a decent price. This could be an underrated move depending on how deep the Stars go in the playoffs.
