Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks have signed a multi-year contract extension. Kidd received interest from both the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks over the past two offseasons. Kidd was expected to eventually sign an extension with the Mavericks after they rebuffed interest from the Knicks in their head coaching vacancy.
Kidd became head coach of the Mavericks in 2021 and led the team to the Western Conference Finals in 2022 before a Finals appearance in 2024.
Kidd was previously a head coach with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks before his stint as an assistant coach with the Lakers.
