The Horned Frogs set the stage for their Big 12 series against Kansas State with a 5-2 win on Tuesday.
The TCU baseball team defeated Dallas Baptist for the second time this season on Tuesday evening, scoring a 5-2 win to set the stage for a Big 12 Conference series against Kansas State this weekend. Six different pitchers took the mound for the Horned Frogs (24-15, 8-13 Big 12), with right-hander Louis Rodriguez earning the save and right-hander Caedmon Parker earning the win. Parker tossed two shutout frames to start the game.

TCU took the early lead on Tuesday, scoring one run on an RBI single from Kurtis Byrne in the bottom of the first inning before tallying two runs in the bottom of the second inning, where Sam Myers belted a triple into right-center field. The Horned Frogs added runs over the fifth and sixth innings, taking a 5-0 lead after RBI groundouts from Byrne and Peyton Chatagnier. A two-run homer in the top of the seventh was all for Dallas Baptist in the game.

Among the relievers who threw for TCU on Tuesday was right-hander Storm Hierholzer, who struck out four batters over two scoreless frames after Parker left the mound. Left-hander Zack Morris followed with two innings of relief, striking out three batters over two innings. Right-hander Hunter Hodges struck out three batters as well, but conceded a two-run blast in the process. Left-hander Ben Abeldt fired a scoreless eighth inning for the hold, striking out two batters and reaching the 100-strikeout threshold for his career along the way.
