Second place Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers didn’t score a run but the Seattle Mariners scored four runs.
M’s superstar Julio Rodriguez sort of famously had not yet hit a home run thus far during his struggles to begin the 2024 campaign. That lasted less than half of the series opener between the two top teams in the AL West as Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh each hit a two-run blast off of a rather pedestrian Dane Dunning.
Meanwhile, the Texas bats did next to nothing — three total hits on the night, in fact — against Seattle start Logan Gilbert and now the Rangers are in second place in the division.
It feels like a hundred years since the last game at The Shed before tonight but the Rangers also didn’t score in that game. They haven’t scored a run in their home park since April 10.
