The Frisco product is returning to the Lone Star State for his super senior season.
In the third and final pledge on big Sunday for head coach Rodney Terry and the Texas Longhorns, former Indiana State Sycamores guard Julian Larry committed to the Longhorns following an official visit in Austin, he told On3.

Larry is a super senior who will play his final season for the Longhorns thanks to an extra year of eligibility afforded by the coronavirus pandemic.
A 6’3, 185-pounder from Frisco Lone Star who also played quarterback, Larry was unranked out of high school, when his only other reported offer was from Sam Houston State.
After signing with Indiana State in the 2020 class, Larry started at point guard in 21 of his 25 appearances for the Sycamores as a freshman, averaging 4.0 points, 1.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game while struggling as a shooter, hitting only 31.4 percent from the field, 27 percent from three-point range, and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line.
Remaining in the starting point guard role as a sophomore, Larry’s efficiency as a shooter improved significantly as his reputation as a lockdown defender burgeoned, although his overall per-game contributions remained modest, averaging 5.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
As a junior, Larry was the epitome of an efficient role player as the starting point guard, averaging 7.0 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 59.2 percent to lead the team, hitting 46.4 percent from three and ranking second on the team in steals with 45 and assists with 119.
Larry emerged as a double-digit scorer for the first time in his career in 2023-24, averaging 11.0 points per game on 46.2-percent shooting from three-point range. With 91 attempts, Larry wasn’t a high-volume three-point shooter on a team that ranked fifth nationally in three-point rate, preferring instead to get to the rim off the bounce, scoring 57 percent of his field goals at the rim. Larry also averaged 4.8 assists per game to lead the Sycamores and is known as a high-level perimeter defender — his 59 steals were the most in the MVC last season.
On Sunday, Texas also landed commitments from Larry’s former teammate, forward Jayson Kent, and Arkansas transfer guard Tramon Mark.
